On the morning of 24th August, the military training closing ceremony for the freshmen from Grade 10 was held on the playground, which was chaired by Deputy Director Xu Haihong with the Senior High Department. Also in attendance were Anqing Foreign Language School’s President Madam Huang Wenli, Company Commander Wang Min from Unit 94535 based in Anqing Radar Station, Principal Assistant Qian Zhihong, Director Xu Zuitai with the International Department, Deputy Directors Cao Siqing and Liu Qiongdan from the Senior High Division as well as some parents.
First of all, the closing ceremony officially kicked off with the loud and clear military songs. Eight companies from the 10th grade successively brought us the military drill performance, such as the command ‘Stand at ease. Stand at attention. Straddle. Quick time, march and parade steps...’ The step sound and command demonstrated the temperament and soul of soldiers, which drew applause from the leadership panel and parents from time to time.
Second of all, from the speech of student representative Jin Zhiyi with the 3rd company, we could feel the changes brought by the military training to all the freshmen from Grade 10 in that they understood the hard work of soldiers, knew the difficulty of living a harmonious and stable life and realized the importance of protecting our homes and defending our country. This year many parents wrote ‘A Letter to Our Children’ to their kids who just entered Grade 10 and exchanged views at the meeting. From the letter, we felt parents’ anticipation for their children in that they hoped their kids would not only learn knowledge, but also learn how to behave themselves industriously and positively. Thus, this military training performance made parents sit up and take notice of their children!
Third of all, Deputy Director Xu Haihong announced the class and student lists of ‘Advanced Collective’ and ‘Military Training Model’ of this military training summer camp. Then, the school leadership presented awards to them.
Fourth of all, Company Commander Wang Min made a speech in which he praised the students’ excellent performance and reminded them to never be afraid of hardships.
Fifth of all, Principal Assistant Qian Zhihong affirmed the students’ performance for their bravery and self-discipline in his speech. Also, he thanked the instructors for their meticulous training. Meanwhile, Principal Assistant Qian Zhihong thanked the head teachers for their care and company.
Sixth of all, President Madam Huang Wenli presented the silk banner to Unit 94535, seeking joint development between the unit and school. In her keynote speech, Madam President hoped the students could bring the military spirit and temperament into their study and life to lead their future three-year senior high journey.
In a nutshell, after the short five days’ military training, students learned to be independent and grew up a lot, which brought to a successful conclusion to the first class at school.
